Hardware Test Engineer

Tomahawk Robotics is providing next-generation interoperability and control to military, commercial and industrial markets. As a hardware test engineer, you will be testing and debugging manufacturing issues at the circuit card level, testing new circuit designs, developing test plans and performing system-level qualification testing on some of the most exciting new robotic platforms from vendors such as the Boston Dynamics, FLIR, QinetiQ, DJI, Parrot, and many more. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field with at least 6 years of relevant experience 
  • 4+ years of circuit design experience including DC-DC power supplies and microcontroller architectures 
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware issues in a manufacturing environment 
  • Experience troubleshooting cables, connectors and shielding 
  • Experience troubleshooting issues at the circuit level 
  • Experience using electronic test equipment such as multimeters, spectrum analyzer, power supplies, oscilloscopes, etc. 
  • Able to test unmanned systems at the system level in the field 
  • Motivated, hands-on attitude with strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to creatively address and solve problems quickly 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with our technical team and potentially our customers 
  • Positive attitude and works well in a team environment with mixed engineering disciplines 
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to develop and script in Python 
  • Familiarity with Docker, IP networking/routing, and virtualization 
  • Able to debug, compare, and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on defects 
  • Experience using Git-based system or similar configuration management tools 
  • Experience using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.) as well as test case and requirements management software 
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite of products 

Responsibilities Include

  • Design custom circuit cards, develop tests, and perform circuit card level testing 
  • Perform troubleshooting throughout the hardware stack including interconnects 
  • Develop and integrate automated test cases against subsystem components 
  • Document results of testing and feedback issues to development team 
  • Ensure hardware/software functionality adheres to requirements and use-case documentation 
  • Participate in live system testing 
  • Support remote customer demonstrations
