Vice President of Finance and Accounting

Tomahawk Robotics is seeking a Vice President of Finance and Accounting (VP F&A). This position offers the ability to make a significant impact for the company and our stakeholders. The company has grown extremely quickly, and the VP F&A will set the stage for the next phase of growth. 

Key aspects of the role include managing the company's finances, including financial planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping, and financial reporting. You will also be charged with managing investor relations. In addition to your financial responsibilities, you will also be tasked with managing the company’s administrative functions which entail pay, benefits, insurance, legal, IT, and security functions.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience minimum in financial roles of increasing responsibility including a minimum of 2 years as a senior financial executive with a corporation or a major accounting firm
  • Bachelor's degree and an advanced degree in finance, accounting, or business
  • Deep knowledge of accounting and controls, revenue recognition, as well as strong financial analytic skills
  • Understanding of government contracting between business practices
  • Existing relationships with bankers and capital providers
  • Experience with corporate governance and BOD collaboration
  • Highly proficient in data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Extensive successful, full-cycle M&A and/or IPO experience
  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time
  • COVID-19 Vaccine Mandated Employer Preferred

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business or Financial Management
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)

Responsibilities Include

  • Provide ongoing risk management and financial oversight of the business – forecasts, cash management, metrics, dashboards, etc.
  • Manage the company’s capital strategy
  • Supervise all finance, accounting, and administrative personnel
  • Participate in board meetings as a key member of the management team and manage investor communications
  • Manage banking/capital provider relationships in order to evaluate expansion opportunities and chart a path to liquidity for stakeholders, whether through a sale, IPO, or recapitalization
  • Implement effective internal controls within the organization and ensure compliance
  • Support development of strong accounting and ERP systems infrastructure to support both portfolios of existing products as well as new product launches.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards
  • Manage tax issues for the firm, both in ongoing operations and as may relate to an exit
