Junior Mechanical Engineer

As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will be creating mechanical designs for rugged, cutting-edge robotic controllers and communication systems that operate in harsh environments across the world, working with manufacturers to have custom parts fabricated, and helping to integrate these products with some of the most exciting new robotic platforms from vendors such as Boston Dynamics, FLIR, QinetiQ, DJI, Parrot, and many more.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong CAD abilities (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Ability to contribute to all phases of design: preliminary design, detailed design, testing, product iteration
  • Knowledge of traditional and nontraditional manufacturing methods
  • Motivated, hands-on attitude with strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to creatively address and solve problems quickly 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with our technical team and potentially our customers 
  • Positive attitude and works well in a team environment with mixed engineering disciplines 
  • Must be a US Citizen

Desired Qualifications

  • 2 years of mechanical design experience
  • Hands-on experience with robots or electromechanical systems
  • Experience optimizing parts for manufacturing and assembly
  • Basic understanding of circuit card design
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite of products 

Responsibilities Include

  • Generate conceptual and detailed mechanical designs of products and subsystems
  • Generate detailed part and assembly drawings for manufacturing
  • Work with electrical engineers to design circuit card footprints
  • Identify and work with vendors to develop custom components
  • Assist in testing new products
  • Diagnose product issues and identify solutions
