HARDWARE TEST ENGINEER

As a Hardware Test Engineer, you will be creating, performing, and documenting tests with custom hardware and system-level software interactions with robotic systems. In this role you will be performing qualification testing against new products and developing test fixtures and harnesses to facilitate high-volume testing. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer or Systems) 
  • 3+ years applicable work experience, preferably in system integration and test 
  • Working knowledge of robotics and/or electromechanical systems 
  • Proficiency is Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Excellent documentation and organization skills  
  • Understands the necessity for good documentation  
  • Understanding of general safety practices, including working with ESD-sensitive electronics or around machinery 
  • A solution-focused attitude toward problem-solving 

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with programming, such as Python scripting 
  • Familiarity and/or experience testing against various MIL-STD tests 
  • Working knowledge of Atlassian Jira/Confluence, and Polarion 
  • Experience operating unmanned systems or video games  
  • Familiar with engineering design 

Responsibilities Include

  • Creating test procedures and test reports for environmental, functional and acceptance testing of various products 
  • Working with systems engineers to ensure all requirements are clearly defined and paired with test plans 
  • Designing test fixtures and/or test harnesses 
  • Developing efficient processes for automated testing and coordinating with suppliers/manufacturers to implement (In-Circuit Test fixtures, etc.) 
  • Supporting informal testing of early prototypes and R&D projects 
  • Coordinating with external test labs to conduct formal product testing
